To celebrate MHP joining forces with the Drive Thru sites, we are glad to announce that Invasion is now $1.99 for a limited time! There has never been a better time to read the digital edition of Mark Oldfield’s tale of Shadow Master and Liquid Wonder!

We still have several openings in the other three of our announced anthologies. Any writer interested in publishing with Pulp Empire should send a proposal for a 10000 word story to submissions@pulpempire.com. If a writer has never written for Pulp Empire or Metahuman Press before, they should also include a writing sample. Deadlines listed below are for the final story.

Modern Gods will feature tales of ancient gods from Norse, Roman, Greek, Celtic or Egyptian mythology as they either are reborn or come to visit the modern world. However they get here, their adventures should promise lots of adventure around the world.

Volume 1 of Modern Gods has a final story deadline of July 15 and will feature characters from any pantheon. It has one final slot open for your submissions.

Modern Gods volume 2 will feature gods of the Greek pantheon only. It has a final story deadline of September 30. Three open slots for stories are still available.

Spy World features modern set tales of agents of international espionage. The stories for this tale should be grounded in reality, but the more stylized reality of spies like Jason Bourne, James Bond, or Sydney Bristow. Fast, hard plots should be in store here, but try to keep any stories to a PG-13 level of sex and language. Please no superheroes, aliens or the like in proposals. The final story deadline is August 15. We still need four stories for this book so please get those submissions in if you are interested.

Sixteen heroes and one villain vanished on a remote mission in the late 1940s. Forgotten by mankind, they return in the present day without knowledge of why they disappeared, why they time traveled or what the heck happened to the world they once knew.

Some will dig in to the mysteries of their leap through time. Some will renew their crime-fighting ways. Some will try to restart a normal life. Some may have come to the modern world just to die…

Living Legends: Old Soldiers is a complete rewrite of the classic Metahuman Press Online tale that originally appeared online in 2007 and 2008. Even readers of the original will find plenty to love in the new edition with added characters, plot lines and danger.

As mentioned just a few short days ago, Metahuman Press and Pulp Empire have new anthologies that need your writing talents!

Each of these anthologies will go to press with six 10,000 word stories in them, but in order to make that work we need more stories! If you have any interest in writing for MHP now is the time to get a couple paragraph proposal together and give it a try!

Modern Gods volumes 1 & 2 are adventure stories of gods in the modern day. The deadline for volume 1 (all pantheons) is July 15. The deadline for volume 2 (Greek pantheon) is September 30. We still have three spots open in volume 1 and two spots open in volume 2.

Spy World features modern tales of super spy types in a hyper-realized adventure-oriented real world. There is room for a lot of takes on the super-spy and espionage genre here. The deadline is August 15. Currently two story spots have been filled, but we need to fill four more.

Supernatural West will feature action tales of supernatural monsters (of any variety) in a classic western setting. Two spots remain to be filled for it. Deadline is August 31.

I Was a Teenage Superhero is wide open for a lot of great super-powered stories, obviously with an emphasis on characters that are younger. Only two spots have been filled in this book, where final stories need to be in by September 15.
