Our monthly updates bring you the best in characterization, storytelling, and excitement. We pride ourselves in presenting some of writing’s newest future stars as they embrace the genre they know and love.

Someone coming here for the first time might ask What do you mean Super-Powered Fiction?. Well Super-Powered Fiction (or Superhero Fiction) is a term that describes all stories with super-powered beings, whether it be comic, prose, movie, or radio play. Most often it is used specifically to describe prose stories like you will find here at Metahuman Press.

So why super-powered prose? It’s simple. You can tell stories that comics or movies just cannot with the power of prose. Prose lets us delve deeper in to the minds and straight in to the souls of our characters. It lets us tell stories from the simplest study of a person’s hope and dreams to plante-shaking epics on a huge scale. Think about it, you ever read Crisis This or Secret That, you know that big event story from your favorite comic publisher? You always leave those stories with the feeling that a little something was left behind, something that doesn’t fit in to a twenty-two page story. Prose offers no constraints on what a writer can do with their characters. That may be the biggest power of all.
