Living Legends now in print!

After a few days as a digital exclusive title, Metahuman Press is proud to announce that Living Legends Book I: Old Soldiers is now available for purchase from our Createspace store! This 200+ page tale re-introduces over a dozen classic comic book mystery men, some for the first time in 60 years.

Behind a gorgeous cover by the talented Kent Archer, Living Legends  will chronicle the adventures of these men and women lost in time as they make their way through through a new century marked with new problems and new enemies.

The print edition is priced at $12.00, but fans of Metahuman Press on Facebook might just be able to find a special discount on the book!

While you will continue to be able to find our books available digitally at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Smashwords, we will now also offer all our stories as PDFs through the fine folks at One Book Shelf. Right now you can find the first of our titles, Invasion: The New Metahumans by Mark Oldfield, on both DriveThruFiction and DriveThruComics.

Two anthologies filled, three still need your stories!

Pulp Empire and Metahuman Press are now closing submissions on I Was a Teenaged Superhuman and Supernatural West. I Was a Teenaged Superhuman will feature tales from David Perlmutter, Caine Door, Mark Oldfield, Wayne Ligon, Hunter Lambright & Travis Hiltz.Supernatural West will have stories from Lance Stahlberg, Terry Alexander, Viktor Kowalski, Teel James Glenn, Hunter Lambright & Shane Cashman.

We still have several openings in the other three of our announced anthologies. Any writer interested in publishing with Pulp Empire should send a proposal for a 10000 word story to submissions@pulpempire.com. If a writer has never written for Pulp Empire or Metahuman Press before, they should also include a writing sample. Deadlines listed below are for the final story.

Modern Gods will feature tales of ancient gods from Norse, Roman, Greek, Celtic or Egyptian mythology as they either are reborn or come to visit the modern world. However they get here, their adventures should promise lots of adventure around the world.

Volume 1 of Modern Gods has a final story deadline of July 15 and will feature characters from any pantheon. It has one final slot open for your submissions.

Modern Gods volume 2 will feature gods of the Greek pantheon only. It has a final story deadline of September 30. Three open slots for stories are still available.

Spy World features modern set tales of agents of international espionage. The stories for this tale should be grounded in reality, but the more stylized reality of spies like Jason Bourne, James Bond, or Sydney Bristow. Fast, hard plots should be in store here, but try to keep any stories to a PG-13 level of sex and language. Please no superheroes, aliens or the like in proposals. The final story deadline is August 15. We still need four stories for this book so please get those submissions in if you are interested.

The Living Legends are coming!

Coming in early May, Metahuman Press is proud to announce their third volume for 2012. Living Legends: Old Soldiers is the first in a three book trilogy that revives nearly two dozen classic Golden Age comic book characters, some for the first time in 70 years.

Sixteen heroes and one villain vanished on a remote mission in the late 1940s. Forgotten by mankind, they return in the present day without knowledge of why they disappeared, why they time traveled or what the heck happened to the world they once knew.

Some will dig in to the mysteries of their leap through time. Some will renew their crime-fighting ways. Some will try to restart a normal life. Some may have come to the modern world just to die…

Living Legends: Old Soldiers is a complete rewrite of the classic Metahuman Press Online tale that originally appeared online in 2007 and 2008. Even readers of the original will find plenty to love in the new edition with added characters, plot lines and danger.
